Failure is Easy

May 20, 2009...

People don't plan to fail.

But we often do.

Why is that?

I believe the secret to answering this question can be found in an old quotation:

"People don't plan to fail. They fail to plan."

Ahhh..."They fail to plan."

The dreaming B-I-G part? That's the easy part. The developing the DETAILED plan of how to get to that success? That's the hard part.

"Planning" is going over your presentation again and again before the meeting. "Planning" is knowing the benefits of your product inside and out so as not to be stumped when an objection arises. "Planning" is keeping a calendar as to not forget an important date. "Planning" is taking the steps to have enough money for a "rainy" day. "Planning" is avoiding easy shortcuts. "Planning" is doing what needs to be done today...not tomorrow.

But none of that is easy.

And that's why failure so often is.
