#469: Won’t Find It in a Hallmark Card
Sometimes I get one.
I receive a message that wouldn’t be inspiring to read in a Hallmark card.
Here’s three I had fun with:
# 1. In an email:
“I’ve never heard of you. Who are you? If you’re so motivating why haven’t I heard of you?”
My response:
“Thanks for finding me…now. As to whether you’re lucky you found me…I guess the jury is still out for both of us.”
#2. In a Direct Message on Twitter:
“Are you as arrogant as you seem?”
My response:
“When you’ve failed, been rejected, defeated, and crushed as much as I have…
it is SOMETHING to be proud of…don’t you think?”
#3. In an email:
“Why do you do crazy walks across countries? What are you looking for?”
My response:
“I’m looking to live with no regrets. And you?”
If there’s one giant wish I had for you…and me…that magical secret wish that would transform our lives into their most passionate potential, it would be this:
“Be great at being you.”
Despite the words others say loudly your direction.
Despite the whispers others plant silently in your ears.
Despite the verbal dings to your spirit.
“Be great at being you.”
They’re your shoes to wear.
They’re your steps to walk.
They’re your goals, dreams and passions to live.
So walk your unique walk.
It’s 100% why you’re here.
EXTRA Thoughts…
No one can wear your…slippers, sneakers, cowboy boots, cleats, ballet shoes, clogs, skates, deck shoes, dress shoes, flip-flops, galoshes, golf shoes, high heels, hiking boots, loafers, moccasins, pumps, sandals, stilettos, swim fins, tap shoes, wedges or wingtips…better than you can wear your own.
“Be great at being you.”
Thank YOU for reading this week.
With humble gratitude…
