Hi Shawn,
A co-worker forwarded me your blog a couple of years ago and I signed up. I don’t miss a week. You must know me because you write what I need to read.
I’m sorry to read you got hit by a bike. I hope you’re doing okay. I can relate though. I feel life has crashed into me.
My story is I’m starting to feel hopeless. My goals are going nowhere and I’m getting depressed about it. After everything I do each day – work, school, stores, taxiing kids, errands, meals, etc. – I collapse at the end of the day.
Am I lying to myself to think I can achieve my goals? My responsibilities aren’t changing, so how will my success change? I know you’ll say don’t give up, but I feel desperate and need more than that.
Any tips to offer an overwhelmed reader?

Dear M…
I get it.
And I get you.
I’ve lived 1,000 days in recent years where what I passionately wanted to do IN a day became what I didn’t do IN that day.
Day-to-day living can be a butt-kicker.
Please know I don’t pretend to be a guru when it comes to magically transforming each day into a gold mine of goal achievement.
BUT…
I’ve learned ONE mindset secret that is now serving me well.
“Bring a Plus One.”
Ummm…
What’s that?
It’s ONE (small) activity I do each day that inches me forward to achieving a goal. I may only have five minutes of energy in my spirit to do it…but that’s okay.
If I DO those five minutes…
I’m good with me.
I don’t have to feel guilty.
I do get to feel positive about myself.
And I AM moving forward.
EVEN IF…
I’m living a day with poor physical energy, or…
My day is crazy busy with “To Dos”, or…
I feel like throwing away a day that turns lousy…
I’m still doing everything in my soul to squeeze in that Plus One.
I hope this helps…YOU.
And I hope you try it.
Find your Plus One each day for one of your goals.
Dance with it for just five minutes.
If you do…
I think your faith in yourself and your power to achieve your goal will grow.
