______

#1. A friend named Zee.

At the end of late afternoon calls, she leaves with these words:

“Tomorrow’s going to be an amazing day!”

Life positively changes a LOT when you walk through it thinking that a LOT.

#2. “Where do I go from here?”

An email:

Dear Shawn,

How do we mess up our lives so well?? I’m a divorcee with no relationship in sight. I ended up in a career I have no enthusiasm for, and I can never afford the vacations I want to take. I’m tired all day, have eating issues, weigh too much and have my therapist on speed dial. Some days, it all gets heavy.

I wanted it all and ended up with nothing.

Where do I go from here??

An excerpt from my response…

Where do you go from here?

You go online…and buy a feel-good book.

You go to work…and compliment a co-worker.

You go on a walk…and take note of the miracles.

You go to the store…and say something positive to the cashier.

You go to your music library…and add inspiring, energy-rich songs.

You go into the world every day…and make a difference.

That’s where you go.

#3. “You’re like a speck of dust…”

Last weekend, I saw the musical 42nd Street.

There’s a dialogue exchange that sticks with me.

The female lead, Peggy Sawyer, is an innocent, wide-eyed young woman from Allentown, Pennsylvania, who wants to be on Broadway. She is loaded with excitement about the opportunity to be in this “show-within-the-show.” Her enthusiasm for theater and life, however, is not matched by the show’s director.

Director: “You’re like a speck of dust on this stage, indistinguishable from the other 40 specks of dust I put there.”

Peggy: “I know that, Mr. Marsh. But put all those specks of dust together, and you have something alive and beautiful that can reach out to thousands of people we’ve never seen before.”

Director: “Broadway dreams, Sawyer. We’ve all had them.”

Peggy: “I mean to hold onto mine, Mr. Marsh.”

Director: “So did I. Sweet dreams, kid.”

Peggy: “They are. At least I am a speck of dust in your show.”

Specks of dust.

Perhaps we all are.

Until the moment we say something kind to the next person we meet.

And then to THAT person…

We turn into a STAR.

NOTE: The photo above is on a trail I walk overlooking the American River in northern California. The “angel wings” on my back are actually sweat stains from my backpack. But…it keeps my legs going faster and further to think that maybe, just maybe, an angel’s pushing me from behind.

EXTRA Thoughts

Every day…

There’s something to be positive about. A great way to end each day is to remember to see it.

Miss last week’s blog?

Opportunities open up when we listen and act on those tiny whispers that sometimes nudge our thoughts. Not sure what I mean?

Here’s the link to the blog:

Here’s Your One More

Thank YOU for taking a few minutes to pause your day…and walk with me. I’m grateful you did.

Create a great day…and may you help someone else do the same.

With appreciation and gratitude for you…
