Blog #658: What Did the Fortune Cookie Say?

Sep 19, 2024Blog Post

“Bend the rod while it is still hot.”

(That was my fortune cookie message.)

______

Chances are excellent…

I won’t read my horoscope even once this year.

For me…

It’s not in my mental makeup to pay much heed to how the sun, planets, and moon are aligned. I did have a Tarot Card reading last summer for fun at a vegetarian food festival. I remember continuously chuckling throughout the rest of that day as I thought about what the card reader told me.

But give me a Fortune Cookie?

And I’m reading it every time.

______

Now before you take me TOO seriously on this one…

Please know I’m extra big on positive affirmations and writing down goals.

I have more than a few taped on mirrors and doors.

But each is ME predicting MY future.

They’re self-written fortune cookies.

______

For me…

Seeing written affirmations continuously reminds me of where I’m going…

so I make sure I get my day-to-day actions in line with my getting there.

I learned years ago…

The ideas and goals that I plant in my head and regularly “water” have a far better than average chance of growing to be real in my life.

Affirmations keep me remembering what I want to grow.

______

So the fortune I highlighted at the top of this blog?

That’s mine from a recent visit to my favorite Japanese restaurant.

Maybe I just go to a restaurant with really good fortune cookies…but I admit to saving the fortunes. I have a small bag full of them from this restaurant.

Each is rich with positive intention, and often they remind me I gotta’ do something about the fortune’s wish to get the wish the fortune’s sending.

I like that part.

Putting it on me gives me a chance to win.

______

It’s definitely NOT that…

I believe in the future-predicting message of fortune cookies. BUT…I do admit to believing in the affirmative, forward-thinking hope that each carries.

The energy of our day…

The success of our week…

The destiny of our life…

They can be predicted by the self-fulfilling fortune cookies printed on our thoughts. And the more we program forward-looking, visionary hope and purpose into our thoughts…the greater chance we have of turning those thoughts into our future reality.

So yep…

I’ll keep reading fortune cookies.

And for the ones I really like…

I’m going to use them to spark the best that is in me.

S.

PS: Please note…that although horoscopes and tarot cards are not my thing, they may be yours. I know successful people who absolutely find value in them. My general feeling is that if something works positively for you, and helps you be your BEST…then “you be YOU.”

EXTRA Thoughts

A fortune for you (without the cookie):

“Think good stuff…live more good stuff.”
