Blog #751: I Pressed Send Anyway

Jul 2, 2026Blog Post

#750 is behind me.
#751 is right now.

Still going.
Still showing up.
Still giving it my best.

Every.
Single.
Thursday.

______

#751.

That’s a lot of Thursdays.

More than I ever imagined when this began.

And although I’m acknowledging #751…

I’m celebrating #1 more.

That’s where this really starts.

#1.

______

I can still feel the tension of sending it.

Sitting in front of the computer.

Quiet.
Alone.
Uncertain.
Wondering.

“Should I?”

Then finally…

I did.

I hit “Send.”

______

I had no roadmap.

No long-term strategy.
An audience of maybe 50 readers.
No guarantee anyone would read it.

And my own self-doubt was loud:

“This could be humiliating. People might think I’m lousy at this motivation thing.”

But there was a louder voice.

“Press Send.”

So I did.

And #1 went out into the world.

______

Looking back now, I see it clearly.

That first brave click didn’t begin 751 blogs.
It jump-started a different version of me.

Not overnight.
Not dramatically.
Quietly.

Because that’s how real change happens.

We don’t become different in one giant leap.
We become different in small repetitions.

Of courage.
Of discipline.

The workout you almost skipped.
The page you didn’t feel ready to write.
The adventure you almost didn’t go on.

And then you do it.

And then you do it again.

______

Those moments might seem small when you’re living them.

They’re definitely not.

They are the ones that change who you are.

Slowly.
Quietly.
Unseen.

Until one day you realize—you are no longer the person you used to be.

I’ve walked across countries.
I’ve pedaled across America.
I’ve created Extra Mile Day.
I’ve written seven books I never even dreamed I would write.

None of them began with confidence.

Each began with a decision.

Send.
Go.
Do.

______

People tell me often…

“I’ll do it when I’m ready.”

But after #751 Thursdays, I know this:

Waiting for “ready” never starts the adventure.

Hitting “Send” does.

Going does.

Starting does.

______

We do it not because we’re fearless.

Far from it.

We do it because something is scarier than fear.

Never using the life we were given.

______

Maybe this blog was meant for your eyes.

Your heart.
Your head.
Your feet.

Maybe you’re standing in front of your own #1.

And wondering.

“Is there a dream I’m postponing?”
“Is there a step I’ve been scared to take?”
“Is there a direction I keep avoiding?”

You might even be telling yourself:

“I’ll wait for a sign.”

Then this is it.

Because this blog was never really about my #751.

It was always about your #1.

Press Send.

Gratitude…

EXTRA Thoughts

Give one day your best…
and the other six will grow to meet it.

Last week…

I wrote about a frog and a driving question. Together they led me to a couple of conclusions.

Curious?

My answer:

What Are You Leaving in Them

This week…

I chose Thursdays.

The other six gave Thursday a story to tell.

My week isn’t scattered.

It’s aimed.

Aim your week.

I’ll see you next Thursday.

Gratitude…
