Blog #579: Sipping Tea with Confucius
“I waited too long!”
Four dream-shattering words…
I live to avoid feeling.

Dear Shawn,
I wish I started reading your blog ten years ago. My health issues are now too big to overcome, and it’s too late for me to do the things you inspire me to do.
My dreams are now my regrets.
However, I’ll keep forwarding your blog to people I know. I don’t want them to make the same mistake I did in thinking they have forever.
Thank you for doing what you do.

Last week…
I stumbled across a sentence that hooked my brain.
It has stayed with me every day since reading it.
“We have TWO lives…and the second begins when we realize we have only ONE.”
The guy who wrote it is Confucius.
Someday…
If my version of Heaven works out, I’ll sip tea with him.

Although we each really KNOW we don’t “get” forever…
TOO many put off taking action on the things they have a calling to do.
It’s not uncommon to hear someone flippantly say…
“I’ll do it some day!”
But do we really have that long?
Regret is the heaviest feeling I know.

One last thought this week…
Whatever you’ve been wishing to do…
It’s probably time to quit wishing to do it.
Don’t make “I Waited Too Long” your last song.
Because even SECOND lives have definite end dates.

EXTRA Thoughts…
On the headstone of a billion dreams that never had a chance to live are written these words:
“It was scheduled TOO far in the future.”
