Blog #653: Never Seen What I Saw
In the early evenings…
I’ve sat in my backyard 1,000 times.
But while sitting there last night…
I’ve never seen what I saw.
______
It’s my norm.
At dusk, when I’m home in northern California in the summer…
I end the day sitting in my backyard.
I sip on a favorite beverage.
I scan the sky for the early moon.
Every 10-15 minutes, I get up and move the water sprinkler.
I breathe in the moment…the breeze, the trees, the sky.
I meditate on everything that happened in the day.
I manifest everything I desire to happen tomorrow.
No matter the quality of my day…
I do my best to end my day with quality.
This backyard-reflecting thing encourages that.
It’s rich with hope.
______
But tonight was unlike any other night.
At 8:05 p.m….
Out of nowhere…
TENS of bats simultaneously woke up the quiet evening sky.
They all came at ONCE.
Suddenly…
The sky was moving with mysterious, chaotic beauty.
I’d never seen them before.
At 8:13 p.m.…
As quickly as they appeared together…
The bats disappeared together.
Their captivating frenzy was over.
It lasted only eight minutes.
______
It goes by fast.
Wherever you are…whatever time of life you’re living…breathe it in.
Because before you know it, the moment will flash by as quickly as it came.
NOW doesn’t hang out forever.
And when the NOW leaves…
We can’t make the bats come back.

EXTRA Thoughts…
This minute.
This hour.
This day.
This can never be lived again.
