Blog #727: The Ones That Haunt

Jan 15, 2026Blog Post

Maybe…
We screwed up big in life a couple of times.

And maybe…
Those moments still haunt our core.

(If you relate, I wrote this blog for YOU.)

______

Brutally bad decisions come in many forms.

Some majors?

She totaled her car.
She missed her insurance payment.
She has zero savings.
She paid her bills as an Uber driver.

He took a business shortcut.
He thought he would be safe.
He wasn’t.
He lost everything.

She was going through a difficult patch.
She needed a timeout from her life.
She met someone for a moment.
Her husband couldn’t forget.

He left home for the first time to go to college.
He had never felt freedom.
He lived it.
He lost his scholarship.

Some minors?

All the bruises that mark your heart now.

______

Mistakes.

The gigantic.
The painful.

The small.
The bruising.

From them…

We lost our confidence.
We lost our courage.

We lost our dreams.
We lost our personal power.

______

Let me be 100% clear.

I write stuff like this…
Because I KNOW stuff like this.

I write stuff like this…
Because I’ve LIVED stuff like this.

______

Whatever we did yesterday or 1,000 yesterday’s ago…

It’s time.

It’s time to acknowledge fully what we did.
It’s time to say to our mistakes…

“I no longer fear your FEAR. I no longer accept your definition of who I am. You hold me back no more.”

______

We cannot control the fact that “Once Upon A Time”…

Life kicked us extra hard, and our brains still live with the kick.

We cannot control what happened THEN…
But we can control what our brain thinks NOW.

Can I suggest telling yours this?

“I felt my mistake. I paid for my bad moment. I am free to live again.”

It’s time to deal with what’s dealing with you.

So perhaps…

You can get on with living.

EXTRA Thoughts

I have never won because I wished extra hard.

BUT…

I have won 100 times because I acted hard on a wish.
