Blog #550: Ditto, Little EMi…Ditto
Inspiration.
It lives everywhere.
Every day.
If…we just open our eyes.
Three short stories.
One single Tuesday.
______
Story #1:
I’m in Marina del Rey right now.
In the morning, the dogs and I take a 35-minute walk through the docked boats in the marina. On this morning’s walk, I saw a woman open multiple wine bottles, lean over the rail, and pour each bottle into the water.
It wasn’t hard to imagine why.
“That takes huge courage,” I said.
“If I don’t change me, I won’t change,” she replied.
______
Story #2:
After our morning walk…
The dogs and I went upstairs, had breakfast…and then the dogs siesta-ed while I worked. I found zero success; lots of rejections with author, speaker and media stuff…all the things that measure “success” in my professional world.
Needing an attitude change…
I took the dogs outside a second time. I sat on our curb, and they sniffed the grass for old friends, barked at new ones, and looked at the day with inspiring curiosity.
I asked EMi who was sitting by me:
“Are YOU having a good day? I’m not.”
She seemed to get what I was saying. With her kind, happy, sweet doggy eyes…she didn’t need words to tell me:
“Every day is a great day when I get to hang out with you!”
Ditto, little EMi…ditto.

Story #3:
We went back upstairs.
Now wearing a changed attitude, I got back to my work. A phone call came in.
I rarely answer calls I don’t recognize, but my gut silently whispered:
“Answer this one.”
I did.
A guy representing a national health-oriented organization with a couple hundred thousand members was interested in my message.
“How can we team up?” he asked.

So yeah…
Tuesdays are special.
They always carry a little extra hope.
The same goes for…
Mondays.
Wednesdays.
Thursdays.
Fridays.
Saturdays.
Sundays.
Those days are excellent for inspiration…too.
If…we just open our eyes.
EXTRA Thoughts…
#1.
My eyes, my ears…my hope.
Every day I open them for inspiration.
#2.
This is Extra Mile Thursday #550.
I have 551 more in me.
#3.
Every day I love a pet…
is a better day than it would be without one.
(Can I encourage you to adopt a new best friend?)
