#514: If I Wore Different Eyes

Dec 16, 2021Blog Post

It’s Monday.
It’s 5:30 p.m. as I start to write this.

It’s been a really good day.

“A really good day?”

Well…

That’s how I see it.

I recorded a fun podcast with an enthusiastic host.
I brainstormed 2022 and “How to reach more people.
My fingers, brain and heart came together in something I wrote.
I encouraged people 1-on-1…two that I knew and three that I didn’t.
I had strong meetings with my awesome work teammates….Ana and Belinda.

So yeah…

I had a really good day.
______

But if my brain wore different eyes…

I would have seen different things and lived a different day.

I had few book orders.
One of my dogs has a bad limp.
The windy, cold weather kept me inside.
I didn’t start something I wanted to do.
At the end of this day, I am tired…twice.

Different eyes would’ve seen THAT day.

______

I am glad I see what I see.
I am glad I am who I am.

But I am who I AM because I see what I see.

As are you.

EXTRA Thoughts

I’m privileged to do 4-5 podcasts a month. A couple of months ago, I did a show with a special host named Kevin Lowe.

When Kevin was a junior in high school, he had a life-threatening brain tumor successfully removed. However…when he woke up from surgery, he shockingly found himself 100% blind.

STILL…

Even without the use of his eyes…few people I’ve ever met see life with more positivity than Kevin.

If we consistently let external events determine internal happiness…then consistently smiling seems consistently hard to do.

Thank you, Kevin, for teaching us how to see.

Miss last week’s blog? Here’s the audio version:

Cry, Cuss or Mope

And by the way…

The banner photo at the TOP? That’s “EMi.” She’s repeatedly quite clear about what she likes and doesn’t…and she definitely does not do “storms.”

Thank you for choosing to hang out with me (and EMi) for a few minutes today.

I’m grateful.

She’s just cold.

With gratitude…
