Blog #693: Is It Coincidence?

Why “Is It Coincidence” Invites Us to Look Deeper.
Is It Coincidence is Shawn Anderson’s thoughtful exploration of how life’s unexpected connections might not be random at all, but meaningful nudges guiding us forward.
One hour after sending last week’s blog
about not seeing a whale…
I saw one.
An ocean giant leaped high into the sky
and waved his enormous tail in my direction.
Life wears mysterious coincidence.
______
,
I returned from Alaska 3 days ago.
After being away for a couple of weeks, my head is swarming with projects that are lagging and that I need to get done.
This week’s blog was a VIP on my list.
I was sitting in my backyard with my computer in my lap…struggling with this week’s topic. My brain kept floating to my long list of “To Do’s.”
Feeling antsy and with zero direction on what to write…
A hummingbird flew directly in front of my face…just staring at me. He (or she?) hovered for what seemed like an extra-long 5+ seconds.
Before flying away…
A silent whisper was planted in my head:
“Write about me.”
______
The magic of life.
The moments that inspire us.
The moments that connect us.
The moments that make breathing easier.
Life can often seem like one continuous giant challenge.
And it is…especially when we fail to feel the magic moments.
A week ago, a giant whale showed me one.
Today, the tiniest of hummingbirds showed me one, too.
______
Truthfully…
Life is rich with mystery.
Is it pure coincidence that things happen when they do? Or is its magical timing a part of something far bigger than I can even fathom?
The whale…when I had written an hour before about not seeing one?
The hummingbird…when I was struggling desperately for a blog topic?
Coincidence?
Or was the Universe sending me a small reminder?
“I got you.”
______
Although I want to believe what I want to believe…
I can’t know for sure the truth about coincidences. But in the case of seeing today’s hummingbird, I found inspiration when I needed it the most.
And that’s a great reminder.
May we never fall so deep into our own heads that we fail to feel the miracles and coincidences that surround us.
For me.
For you.

EXTRA Thoughts…
As I look back over my life…
Coincidences seem to have happened when I needed them most.
✨
Miss last week’s blog?
Whales, bears, dogs…and a helicopter ride over Alaska.
Curious?
✨
I hope I wrote something that adds to your thinking. And living.
With humble gratitude…
