Blog #549: My Indiana Jones-Like Search

Aug 18, 2022Blog Post

For 30 years…

I’ve been Indiana Jones-like in my search for the secret:

“How do I live MORE great days?”

In searching…

I’ve discovered a foundation stone:

“Live the Nons.”

______

What are the Nons?

They’re the “non-negotiables.”

They’re the Must Do’s that empower our best health, ensure our best harmony, feed our best inspiration and purpose…and protect our best sanity.

In short…

They’re the activities that help us feel, think and do…our best.

Fail to do one in a day…the day suffers.

Fail to do one for a lot of days…life suffers.

______

What are my non-negotiables?

They’re connected to doing the things that keep me DOING…well.

For me…they’re related to sleep, exercise, diet, drinking water, reading books, getting outside, taking walks, hanging out with my dogs, deleting the negatives… and adding positive value to the world and others.

Sometimes they’re a challenge to want to do every day, and often it takes extra motivation to DO one…but every time I do, I feel good about myself.

And that’s a big deal.

If we don’t feel good about ourselves…great days are hard to create.

______

What happens when I take action on a non-negotiable?

#1. I change the direction of a bad mood.

#2. I ignite my best thinking and creativity.

#3. I reduce stress from my brain and spirit.

What happens when I talk myself out of doing a non-negotiable?

#1. I give a bad day a chance to build momentum.

______

Know your Nons.

Make ’em matter.

Breathe life into them daily.

Because they’re the secret to living a whole bunch of great days.

EXTRA Thoughts

Every waking morning…

We’re given the chance to wake up twice.

Often…

We miss the second one.

Here’s the audio version of this week’s blog.
