Blog #621: Focus on the FEET
Sometimes…
Readers ask tough questions.
Here are five emails from last week.
Excerpts from theirs.
Excerpts from mine.
______
Email #1 (excerpt):
“Setting goals every Monday is intimidating. I know me and I can’t keep that up. Any other ideas you have to offer?”
My response (excerpt):
If MONDAY goals are too much…
Focus on ONE goal.
ONLY ten minutes a day.
Still too much?
How about FIVE minutes?
Three days a week?
We succeed in walking ONE mile when we walk 5,280 feet.
Focus on walking the FEET.
______
Email #2 (excerpt):
“I’ve read your blog for over a year and am familiar with your goals. I feel I’m wasting my life compared to you. Do you have goals I can relate to?”
My response (excerpt):
How about these three?
1. Live kind.
2. Live doing.
3. Live moving.
______
Email #3 (excerpt):
“Why do you feel you have to set goals? Why can’t you just enjoy life?”
My response (excerpt):
If YOU love your life — what you do, what you think, what you feel, what your future looks like — then you are wayyyyy ahead of me.
I set goals to love my life.
MORE.
______
Email #4 (excerpt):
“I’ve never traveled out of the country, but I want to this year. Do you have a favorite country you can recommend?”
My response (excerpt):
I don’t want to cast my shadow on your experience.
Whichever YOU decide will be a great adventure.
But I can say this…
My NEXT is always my favorite.
That way…
I’m not looking back.
______
Email #5 (excerpt):
“How do you find the energy to walk across a country? I’m younger than you but too exhausted to walk to the mailbox.”
My response (excerpt):
I grow old faster when I sit on the couch longer.
😊
