Blog #663: The Question That Rescues Tomorrow
Wherever you are on the planet.
Whatever job.
Whatever age.
Whatever health.
Whatever anything.
There’s one question that rescues future regret.
______
From this day forward…
“What do I wish I’d do?”
Our answers are maps to guide our calendar, weeks, days…and hours.
Our answers are our future goals.
______
Starting from exactly where we start today…
“What do I wish I’d do?”
It’s not about overriding yesteryear’s rejections.
It’s not about making up for past year’s misdirections.
It’s not about what others think or want us to do.
It’s about us.
Whatever job.
Whatever age.
Whatever health.
Whatever anything.
It’s about the years we have left to live.
______
From here until our finish line…
“What do I wish I’d do?”
There is no wiser question we can ask ourselves today…
that will help us painfully avoid thinking tomorrow:
“I wasted my life and chances.”
If you’re reading this…
You have more life to be lived.
Give yourself a gift.
Ask the question that foretells your future.
“What do I wish I’d do?”

EXTRA Thoughts…
“Going the extra mile” has been a theme I’ve run with for 30+ years; it’s in sooo much of my work. (I even named my dog “EMi” for “Extra Mile”).
BUT…
My biggest “extra-mile” success is creating Extra Mile Day on November 1.
Back in 2009…
My intention was to recognize and clap for those individuals and organizations who “go the extra mile” in volunteerism and contribution to make life better for others in their local communities.
In that first year…
I was elated 23 cities and mayors jumped in on my crazy vision and participated. Sixteen years later, 520+ U.S. cities will make the declaration.
Extra Mile Day is coming on 11/1.
You never know how big your idea can grow…
unless you plant the first seed.

Did you miss last week’s blog?
A reader asked two questions:
1. “What’s positive about making wrong choices that last for years?”
2. “How have you handled your most serious regrets?”
I answered.
Curious?
Take a listen to the audio of last week’s blog:

Thank you for reading.
Thank you for being a kindred spirit.
I appreciate YOU…
and the difference you make.
MUCH gratitude…
