Blog #619: Ending. Stinging. Starting.

Dec 21, 2023Blog Post

I focus on STARTS.
It soothes the sting of ENDS.

______

My ocean-traveling adventure has come to an end.

It was a brilliant 30 days of renewing health and breathing harmony.

I loved it.

My day-to-day responsibilities weren’t consuming me.

I had no clue if my favorite teams were winning or losing.

I wasn’t hit with the gut-sinking wave of the never-ending news cycle.

I met kind people.

I explored new lands.

I created passion-rich adventures.

No laundry.

No cooking.

No bed making.

Of course…

I was bummed walking off the ship on day #31.

______

BUT…

I’m not a fan of allowing bummedness to last TOO long.

TWELVE hours later…

I’m thinking far LESS about what just ENDED.

I’m focusing far MORE on what waits to be STARTED.

There’s an Asian speaking tour.

There’s a next cruise to different ports.

There’s a country-crossing walk across Wales or Costa Rica.

There are 1,000 new people to be met.

There’s a stretching program to begin.

There are passionate projects to create.

When I focus on the START…

My future wears continuing optimism, hope and passion.

I find THAT is the head space where my best life lives.

______

In focusing on what might START…

I change the direction of negative thoughts and feelings.

That’s how thinking about the good stuff coming up ahead works.

Stay stuck yearning for the amazing vacation that ended, the great friend that left or the passionate memories that live in the past …and we bum ourselves out. BUT…if we focus on the adventures, projects and people that we’ve yet to meet, we add passionate energy to our thoughts and emotions.

Staring at ENDS creates wishful longing.

Gazing at STARTS creates hopeful expectation.

Choose what you’d rather feel.

______

We CREATE optimism, hope and expectation.

Or not.

We light the three up when we’re excited about our tomorrows.

Are you excited about yours?

If not…

Give positivity a boost.

Plan a START.

Today.

This week.

Next month.

In 2024.

Plan one in all of them.

In doing so, we create a reason to never stop thinking…

“Some of my best days are waiting to be lived!”

And THAT is one of my favorite thoughts to own.

S.

EXTRA Thoughts

I always have a NEXT in my back pocket. In carrying one, I constantly keep looking forward.

Thank you so much for hanging out with me today…and reading.

Enjoy the Holidays.

With humble gratitude…
