Blog #667: I Do. I Don’t. I Don’t. I Do.

Nov 21, 2024Blog Post

In finding my most inspired and inspiring life…
It’s the little things I do that make a big difference.

Extra Mile Tidbits.

(Here’s four.)

______

#1. I live routines.

For me…

Routines find their value most on days when I feel like succeeding least.

Absolutely…

I have days when “I don’t feel like it.” But living routines gives me a chance to succeed on days when success and I aren’t getting along.

Routines keep me from staggering into mediocrity.

And failure.

______

#2. I don’t listen to my own excuses.

Although I know about showing myself grace when I screw up…
I don’t lie to myself and make up reasons to walk the “easy road.”

For me…

The more I take the easy road, the less inspired I live.
The less inspired I live, the less often I succeed.

If I hear myself making a weak excuse to not “run up the hill”…
I know I have to do the opposite and run up the hill.

We live our smallest when we listen to our smallest self.

______

#3. I don’t stay quiet.

I stay motivated because I never stop motivating.

It’s inked in my brain…

When people are doing great, let them know today.
When people are struggling greatly, show them tomorrow.

______

#4. I decide once.

The more I have to make decisions, the more drained I get.

I make decisions once.

Huh?

1. “Do I feel like exercising today?” is not a decision that I need to stress about. I just know I’m exercising today.

2. “Will I write today?” is not a decision that I have to think about.
I journal every day.

3. “Do I have a blog in me this Thursday?” is not an internal debate.

The decision has already been made to write one every week.

When I choose my non-negotiables…

I spend more time doing rather than negotiating.

______

You control you.

Don’t give the role away.

EXTRA Thoughts

Today’s excuses.
Tomorrow’s regrets.

They’re twins.

Did you miss last week’s blog?

I shared two conversations.

One was stuck thinking hard about her past.
One was dwelling on a day four years from now.

Curious?

Here’s the link to the blog:

Holding On to a Heavy Anchor

Every day’s gotta’ chance to be an all-time great day…when you think it does.

Thank you for being here today.

I hope you create a great week!

With appreciation and gratitude…
